    Pumpkin Harvest at Milky Way Farm

    Pick-your-own pumpkin patch and corn maze from Sept 30-Oct 29 – five weekends. Pumpkin Harvest weekends, the farm is open from 10am-5pm Saturdays and Sundays, and free hayrides run continuously to take visitors to the pumpkin patch. An easy walking path is also available for those who choose to stroll to the patch. Weekend visitors enjoy our young farm animals, corn maze, farm fresh ice cream and other products. The farm is also open for pumpkin sales during weekdays in October from 3pm-5pm.     Sugartown Pumpkin Patch

    Sugartown Pumpkin Patch Fall fun at the pumpkin patch and maze at Sugartown Strawberries farm in Malvern, Pennsylvania, just northwest of Weekends, Sept 24 – Oct 29 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ride a tractor-drawn wagon out to the pumpkin patch, where you can spend as long as you want selecting the perfect pumpkins for every member of the family. Be sure you bring along your camera for some priceless photos. Of course, you can also just take the hayride, and get your pumpkins on another weekend.     Newlin Grist Mill – Fall Harvest Festival
    October 7, 10 AM-4 PM

    The 18th century comes alive during this annual event, with the sights, sounds, and smells of colonial America. This event features demonstrations of various historic skills and trades, including blacksmithing, open-hearth cooking, Native American skills, and much more. Listen to music by the Colonial Revelers, learn colonial dancing, and have your silhouette made. Visitors can shop in the festival’s Colonial Market for handmade goods, including cornmeal ground in the site’s 1704 grist mill. Young visitors will especially enjoy painting a pumpkin, taking a hay ride, and seeing interactive performances by Tuckers’ Tales Puppet Theatre!     Longwood Gardens Pumpkin Playground

    Featuring four G-scale locomotives rumbling over 450 feet of track, this beautifully landscaped display is located near the Terrace Restaurant. The Garden Railway is outdoors and runs during regular Gardens hours, weather permitting.


    Elmwood Park Zoo – Harvest Fest

    Morris Arboretum – 10th Annual Scarecrow Design Contest
    Saturday, October 7 through Halloween, Tuesday, October 31st

    This year participants may create a scarecrow for the theme: Halloween Spooky Favorites. All entries will be on display on the Scarecrow Walk at Morris Arboretum. Frame, straw, burlap and twine are provided, the rest is up to you! Space is limited to 35 Scarecrows.     Sesame Place – The Counts Halloween Spooktacular

    Celebrate silly, not-too-spooky fun at The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular at Sesame Place®.  The park is transformed into a family-friendly Halloween haven!  Come in costume and enjoy three special Halloween-themed shows, soar, swing, fly and cruise on four Count von Count-themed mechanical rides, and see everyone’s favorite furry friends dressed up in costume!  Everyone will love the Neighborhood Street Party Halloween Parade that features ten fantastic floats all decked out for the season with music and dancing that will have everyone joining in the fun. The parade features exciting performances about Halloween fun including trick-or-treating, dressing in costume and doing the “Jack-O-Lantern Jump”!  Stay until 8PM every Saturday during Spooktacular to see the special night time version of the parade – the sky will light up with not-too-spooky Halloween-colored lighting!     Marching Band Performances by – West Chester East, Henderson and Rustin High Schools and West Chester University.  Cheerleading Performances by – Bishop Shanahan, West Chester East, Henderson and Rustin High Schools.  Dance Team Performances by – West Chester East, Henderson and Rustin High Schools.  Groups and floats are welcome, but must be registered with the West Chester Parks and Recreation Department before October 6th.
